Architectural Glass

Our group of companies includes Clastec Trading which imports and processes high performance Low Emmisivity and safety architectural glass. Glastec Trading imports glass from some of the world's top companies including AGC, Saint Gobain and Guardian. High quality is ensured throughout the production line as a result of our high tech equipment and our skilled and highily trained personnel.

Low emmisivity Glass

Glastec trading  imports and processes various types of Low emmisivity glass, both hard coated and soft coated to ensure that all specifications set from architectures and engineers are matched as closely as possible.
Single, Double and Triple glazing can be manufactured according to the needs of our customers for high sound and thermal insulation.
Our Low Emmisivity double glazing units can have a Ug value as low as
Ug= 1.0 W/m2K when filled with Argon Glass. We have in stock many types of low emmisivity glass with a variety of Ug, Solar factor,Light Transmittion and thickness to satisfy every customer. Please note that the air gap between the
two glass panes and the use of argon gas affects the U value of the glass.

Laminated and Tempered Safety Glass

Glastec trading imports Laminated Safety Glass which can be used in large window frames and glass railing where high human safety is a priority. Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), between its two or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken, and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces. This produces a characteristic "spider web" cracking pattern when the impact is not enough to completely pierce the glass.
We can also provide our customers with tempered glass units. Toughened or tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (aka: annealed glass) creates. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
We also have in stock 21mm bullteproof antibulgar glass from AGC suitable  for banks and  jewellery stores which has the BR2S and P4B certifications.
Acoustic Glass

Noise pollution is a serious issue, particularly when living in an area with high levels of air traffic or busy roads. Too much noise can be damaging to health (increased stress, disrupted sleep) and can hinder academic learning and concentration.Acoustically insulating glazing can help keep noise outside so you can enjoy your living space in peace and quiet.

How does it work

Noise levels are measured in decibels (dB). A comfortable sound level is around 35dB in daytime and 30dB at night. Acoustically insulating glass cuts out excess sound and the harmful effects of noise. The acoustic glass within a double-glazed unit comprises a special interlayer which acts as a dampening core to prevent sound frequencies from vibrating from one pane of glass to the other. This absorbs and weakens sound energy, helping to act as a barrier to noise. This plastic interlayer also has the additional safety and security properties of laminated glass.
